Trailer Train Flat Car w/R-17 Subway Car
Overview
Loading these cars with a NYC subway car creates a model that will stand out in any freight train. In fact over 1000 new R-142 cars were delivered by rail from Bombardier's Plattsburgh New York factory in 1999-2003. For modelers simulating an earlier period, an R-17 car on a Trailer Train flat could realistically be on its way to a museum. The R-17s were retired in 1988 and one runs today at the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, Connecticut.
