Our No. 98 Coal House accurately replicates the model produced by Lionel from 1939-1940 as a less expensive alternative to the No. 97 Motorized Coal Elevator. Instead of the No. 97's motorized (and noisy!) chain of buckets that lifted coal into the tower, the No. 98 features a chute for loading coal manually into the concealed coal bin. Like the original No. 98 (and 97 as well), our model features an electrically operated trap door for dumping coal into a waiting hopper or gondola.
