Amtrak O Gauge RailKing F40 R-T-R Amfleet Passenger Train Set w/Proto-Sound 2.0
Overview
With a sleek, rounded body that looks more like an aircraft fuselage than a traditional passenger car, the first of nearly 650 new Amfleet cars was delivered in 1975, enabling Amtrak to begin retiring the so-called "heritage fleet." Our Amfleet set replicates the diesel-powered Amfleet consists than can be seen almost anywhere that Amtrak goes, except the electrified portions of the Northeast Corridor. The Horn & Bell version of this set replicates the dramatic warning sounds of a modern diesel, and the Proto-Sound version features Proto-Speed control for smooth and constant speeds from a crawl to full throttle; remote coupler operation; and a full symphony of train sounds, from passenger station announcements to diesel sounds, wailing horn, and crew conversations.
