Weary of getting more locomotives that were really designed for freight operation, Amtrak searched for a new, lightweight, high-tech alternative. General Electric provided Amtrak with an answer with its unveiling of the "Genesis." Featuring a monocoque frame, advanced electronics, and special environmental and safety features, the Genesis represented the state-of-the-art in U.S. passenger service. Today, Amtrak is the most recognizable railroad running on today's rails and this set will be instantly recognized by young and old railfans alike. Set up is quick and easy but it's the awesome sounds of Proto-Sound 2.0 that make this set a real winner.
