Celebrate the Union Pacific Railroad's history with this unique collection of Heritage Sets based on the real life deco schemes created by the railroad giant over the past few years. A total of seven exciting schemes, each consisting of an O scale hi-rail SD70ace, Hi-Cube Box Car and Extended Vision caboose, will be produced in U.P.'s heritage livery designs. The scehemes will include Union Pacific, Denver Rio Grande, Western Pacific, Chicago NorthWestern, Southern Pacific, MKT and Missouri Pacific railroads.
The Heritage Series marks the fifth time in Union Pacific company history that the railroad has painted locomotives in colors other than the traditional UP "Armour Yellow" paint scheme. Previously, locomotives were custom painted in 1991 to honor UP employees serving in the Persian Gulf War, in 1994 to call attention to the United Way Campaign, in 1996 for the Atlanta Games Olympic Torch Relay Train, and in 2002 for the Salt Lake City Games Olympic Torch Relay Train.
Each of our SD70ACe locomotives will capture its real life counterpart's appearance as accurately as possible. The Hi-Cube Box Car and Extended Vision Caboose each feature a matching paint scheme that complements the U.P. livery design found on the locomotives. An additional 6-car set of matching Hi-Cube Box Cars will also be produced for those fans interested in creating a long unit train. Beginning in January 2007, one set, every month, will be released making it easy to collect all seven schemes.
Like our regular SD70ACe releases, the Heritage locomotives are fully outfitted with Proto-Sound 2.0, operating smoke, locomotive speed control, remotely operated Proto-CouplersT that work in conventional or command mode and are Proto-Scale 3-2T 3-rail/2-rail convertible for ultimate operational flexibility.
